Why I’m Excited for Omega Dog Collars

Four years ago, on Christmas Day, my four-year-old retriever mix, Izzy, and my eight-month-old silver lab, Echo, were playing outside like normal. My husband had just walked out to start breakfast when we heard a sound from Izzy that we had never heard before.

While playing, our dogs loved to pull on each other’s collars—but this time, it didn’t end well. Echo had flipped, and her collar twisted, becoming lodged in Izzy’s mouth. When I ran outside, I found them stuck together. My husband jumped in to help and was bitten twice while trying to remove the collar. It had become impacted along with Izzy’s tooth, and the clasp was positioned too close to release.Then my husband noticed something terrifying—Echo was starting to go limp. She lay down, her body relaxing in a way that wasn’t normal. No matter what we did, we couldn’t detach the collar. I ran to grab scissors, but by the time I got back, my puppy had passed out. My husband quickly cut the collar off, and we rushed both dogs to the ER vet.Thankfully, Echo regained consciousness before we got there. After an expensive visit, both dogs were okay, though Izzy had to have two teeth removed. Since then, I’ve been extremely cautious about what collars I use. I love the quality of these collars. Over the years I have purchased several different types and these are by far my favorite. They have put a lot of time and thought in this produce. I especially love how the magnet is design for each dog based on their weight and they work perfectly. For example the other day I was reloading the dishwasher and my dogs have to investigate. My dog Echo got her collar hooked on the bottom rack as she has done many times before but the outcome was completely different. As Echo panicked and took off on a dead run, the magnet on the collar released and she made it safely away. My dish rack stayed in place (first time ever) with the collar hanging off. I was happy to see first hand how quick and easy it was for Echo to break free and safely get away. Everything ended well with no damage to Echo or the collar. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this collar and how much I recommend it to anyone with dogs.
